"No cat knew more about his personal life than the masses of Moonclan, and they did not know more than what every other living cat probably knew."
Crowstar his name was. Leader of Prairieclan. If only Rabbitstar had known the truth about his protege, things would not have to be this way. Why was he in Moonclan and not down here? It was a moon since he became Crowstar and some of his clanmates were still flustered about how young and inexperienced their leader was. Sure, he trained an apprentice - but just one. Not many cats knew him, but there was one that he would often meet in secrecy, private from the rest of the clan's doings.
Cherryheart her name was. There was not much that the silent leader told her, cautious of his belongings. No cat knew more about his personal life than the masses of Moonclan, and they did not know much other than what every other living cat probably knew. How sinful he felt, eloping with the cat. How young was she anyways? Probably not as old as he himself, but to be honest, he did not want to settle down yet. Hopefully she would be able to understand his intentions. Heck, he felt too young to even be doing the nasty, but he did. Just once. He feared what his clan might think of him and what the she-cat would say to him.
So he laid beneath a dead bush at the edge of the territory, their usual meeting spot, and waited for her to show.
Cherryheart walked passed the fresh kill pile and froze when Robinblaze spoke"where are you going? It's moon high?!","going to um, make dirt! And possibly get some prey"she said. Robinblaze dismissed her as she ran out of camp.
Walking quietly through the undergrowth, Cherryheart watched carefully at each tree. She slowly walked down the path that lead to the border. She looked up and saw the moon was going to set soon. She had to go quick.
Cherryheart jogged through the final parts of the undergrowth and at the border."Crowstar? I'm here" she said, looking for the Tom.
He flicked the remains of the bush, impatient. Where was she anyways? Never before had the tom been as restless as now. Hopefully Cherryheart would just hurry up. Was she caught or something? Nah, Stormclan was too mousebrained to even suspect anything wrong with one of their warriors. He stifled a mrrow, laughing inside. Oh, how he couldn't wait to see the reaction of her clan mates when they found out the truth about the gray cat.
Hearing pawsteps approach, his eyes narrowed, looking for who it was. There she was. Crawling out of his hiding spot, he sniffed her and then sat down. "Greetings, Cherryheart." he said without really paying attention to her.
Cherryheart dipped her head respectfully to PrairieClan's leader."Greetings Crowstar" she said to the Tom. Thinking of her lie brought a hilarious image in her head. But kept her emotion to a normal face.
The tom sniffed the she-cat quite gingerly and then emitted a grunt. "How do you do?" he asked, blinking, wishing that he could just read what was on her mind.
"I'm okay. I guess." he said, eyes looking at Cherryheart and back. How was her health? Was the clan treating her well? So the clan did not suspect anything, right?
"Sure, the clan trusted him and all, but could he trust them?"
Crowstar's eyes shifted side to side, still cautious of those around him. Sure, the clan trusted him and all, but could he trust them? "Oh, same old, same old." he mewed. "Yesterday's border patrol chased a rogue out of Prairieclan's territory, so those warriors are quite proud of themselves. Nothing big has happened."
He shrugged, sighing. "Sometimes I doubt how I am to lead a clan if I can hardly manage myself at times."
